We worked with Navman's agency partners to create the backend for the promotion of Navman's new technology - NavPix. This technology embeds a camera into a GPS device, allowing users to take photos which have geographically embedded information in them. Navman wanted to allow users to upload their photos to a website where they could be shared amongst the user community - and crucially they also wanted to allow users to upload and geo-tag photos that had not been taken with a GPS device.
We sourced an appropriate information supplier, who could provide GPS co-ordinates for a given country and postcode, or, in reverse could supply a postcode for a given set of co-ordinates. We built the system allowing users to upload and geo-tag their photos, along with album, sharing and searching functionality. Again, a major challenge for us was to integrate all this functionality into their existing site, which was built with the EPiServer CMS system.
